Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | neutered | 4 months and 16 days old | 41 lbs

hello, first thanks to all the vets at Petco Pet Education Center for answering all the questions about leo. leo is getting better from parvo. watery diarrhea has stopped but left with soft stool. he pooped a nice definite shaped stool on this afternoon but soft stool without definite shap on the evening. is that normal to have inconsistent stool texture during the recovery? how long will it take to get back to normal? (1st pic,poo on the afternoon, 2nd on the evening) is that normal to have inconsistencies?

Parvo causes extreme damage to the GI tract. It can take several weeks for it to repair and heal and start being able to absorb all the water needed to make firmer stools. As long as it isn't regressing into watery diarrhea, I wouldn't be concerned. Adding in probiotics may help recovery a little.
