Should my senior cat get regular blood tests to catch issues early?

Should senior cat do blood test regularly or is it necessary? Thank you!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Jimmy. Yes, I do recommend regular bloodwork on cats. They are very good at hiding signs of illness. They are prone to thyroid disorders, kidney disease and diabetes they age. Bloodwork can catch these abnormalities early and allow treatment to be started. I hope this information helps!

    Considering Kitty's age, it is perfectly reasonable to suggest a blood test (geriatric profile including thyroid hormone concentration). Usually urine analysis, if possible, is recommended as well.
