Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 26 days old | 10 lbs
Karma is about 4 weeks old. No shots or dewormers yet, because her appt is for her 6 week bday. I've started weaning her off formula by mixing it with chicken and rice dry puppy food (authority brand) and been noticing she has inconsistent bowel movements. sometimes it's really healthy looking, solid but wet, sometimes it's a little soft, sometimes even diarrhea-ish. No blood no worms visible, but it has a metal smell which concerns me. Is it normal? Normal appetite and high energy. Any advice?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Soft stools can be normal as they transition from formula to kibble or canned food. If she is otherwise doing well, this may be ok. If it ever becomes consistent diarrhea, have her evaluated by a veterinarian before her scheduled appointment. Keep in mind that it may be best to continue the formula until she is 6 weeks old. Best of luck!
