Pregnant cat's water broke, no kittens after 30 hours, acting normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Longhair | Female | unspayed

My cat's water broke (at least that's what we think it was) and it's been 30 hours, she still hasn't had kittens. The weirdest thing is that she's not stressed at all, she's still jumping, letting me pet her, she's not meowing excessively, and her eating is the same. What's the deal?

Miscarriage and dystocia are possible in this case and an immediate veterinary check up would be needed to confirm this clinical suspicion and treat appropriately. C section may be needed.
