Pet's info: Cat | American Longhair | Female | unspayed
My very pregnant cat produced a bloody discharge which we thought was her water breaking about 30 hours ago. Yet she has not shown any signs of labor and is not stressed at all. It's been a long time...is there a problem?

Yes, it would be better to have her checked over as by now labour should have already started. Best to have her checked over to make sure kittens are well and take things from there. Hope all goes well !

I would definitely have her seen by your vet so they can do x-ray and/or an ultrasound. They should be able to tell if the kittens are vital and heartrates are okay with an ultrasound. I hope this helps!

The typical gestation length of a cat is 58-68 days, so she is not overdue. I would be concerned about the bloody discharge, however, as it is not normal to see blood during pregnancy. If she is still having this discharge, I would take her into the vet now for an exam and possible ultrasound to make sure there is nothing wrong with her pregnancy. It is also a possibility that the blood is actually coming from her bladder, and when cats are pregnant, it's sometimes hard to tell if the blood is from a bladder problem (like a UTI) or a uterine problem. It would be best to have her checked out by a vet to be safe.
