My dog is licking his skin raw and has a terrible odor. What's wrong?

Grundy licks his butt above his tail and the sides of his body near legs raw. What can I do to help? He also stinks really bad. Really bad. He is a mix breed from a pit bull terror and a sherpai. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 year old | 25 lbs

Grundy could be licking himself due to fleas, an infection or anal gland issues. The bad smell could come from a skin infection or anal gland issues. Since his skin is nearly raw and he has an odor, it's best to have him examined by the veterinarian. The doctor may be able to correctly diagnose and treat him based upon the physical exam.
