My cat ingested flea treatment, acting strange with stomach gurgles?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 7 months old | 10 lbs

I recently applied topical flea treatment to my cat, I followed the guidelines on the packaging but he may have ingested some, he's acting strange(extra needy, maybe distressed, and asking for lots of treats) and I've just noticed a light bubbling sound in his stomach. Could this be related to the flea treatment

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! While it may be unrelated, this may be due to ingesting something he was not supposed to. If this continues or more importantly he develops other concerning signs such as not eating, vomiting or having any discomfort, please have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Otherwise, he may be fine if he improves and does well on his own. Have a great day!
