My dog keeps licking and biting her paws. What's wrong and what to do?

My dog is a golden doodle and she has been putting her whole paw into her mouth and biting and licking it. What should I do?

Dogs will sometimes chew on their paws out of boredom but it can also indicate the foot itches. Look in between the paw pads and the toes, look at the nail beds and check the fur for any thorns or other objects stuck in the fur. If you see any redness, bumps or discharge or any other abnormalities, have Coco examined by the veterinarian.

    I suspect the issue with her nose and feet may be related. She may have some allergies or atopy causing itching which is making her lick her feet. This can also occur due to topical irritation. Dogs will often get a secondary infection from the licking and creating a moist area for bacteria or fungus to grow. Try to stop her from licking, this may require an e-collar. I would recommend a veterinary visit for Georgie to determine the cause and see if she may need any antibiotics or medication to decrease itching. Good luck with her.
