Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Female | spayed | 2 years and 5 months old | 14 lbs
I have a two year old mini schnauzer. For the last three nights she’s been kicking her right leg during her sleep but acting fine during the day . Today she started shaking all over, when we got her calmed down she drank water and ate a little bit of food but is favoring the hind leg and when she stands still she kind of stands on her toes. I don’t know what to do

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Piper. She sounds very sore. Small breed dogs can be prone to lower back pain or she could have injured the leg that she is favoring. I recommend that she sees a veterinarian. An examination will detect the source of her pain. X-rays may be recommended. Medications can be prescribed to help her to feel better. In the meantime, keep her quiet and carry her as much as possible. Do not give any over-the-counter pain medications as these can be toxic to dogs. I hope this information helps!
