My anxious dog bites groomers. Can I use calming products instead of vet sedation?

My rescue dog is anxious at the groomers, he got out of his muzzle and bit the groomer. She said he needs sedating next time and I should talk to my vet. Could I get some calming tablets , spray or collar online to avoid costly bills instead? Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Male | neutered | 2 years and 9 months old | 12 lbs

Over the counter calming agents don't see to work well. A visit to your vet for sedatives is well worth the investment for medications that work well. keep in mind, there are a few options and you may need to try a few before you find the right one.
