Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) | Female | spayed | 9 lbs
I adopted a 12 yr old female chihuahua about a week ago. She was a rescue and was with a foster for a few weeks before I got her. The first night I brought her home, she had one big poop right before bed but since then the amount she is pooping is significantly less and as of this morning hasn't pooped in about 36 hours. Should I be worried? I'm feeding her Stella & Chewy grain-free stews. (She had most of her teeth extracted so she's on 100% soft food.)

It's hard to know if this is constipation or anxiety. I do recommend to transition her diet. Most vets do not recommend grain free diets unless a pets has a known grain allergy due to the potential link with heart disease. Some pets will also need a diet higher in fiber to keep them regular. The diet I recommend is Royal Canin. Most pets on this diet have good stool quality.
