My old chihuahua has leg pain. How can I help her for a road trip?

My chihuahua is old almost 19 and she gets pain in her front left leg it’s on and off and she just got healthy from her leg pain and it came back again. My family will also go on a road trip and we will have to take our 2 dogs. Is there anything I can give or do for her before we go on the road? (She has a habit when she gets pain in her left leg she sleeps on it). Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed

If she's not already a daily joint supplement and pain med from your vet is a good idea. A joint supplement can help protect the joint and reduce inflammation, while a pain med such as rimadyl can help to reduce pain and swelling and may help make her more comfortable during the trip. As it can take a bit to start working, asking your vet about it prior to the trip is a good idea.
