Why are my Rottweiler's swollen gums not getting better with treatment?

My 2 year old Rottweiler is suffering from gum swelling Got 2 time treatment from local vet but their is no improvement at all

I am honestly not sure what you are worried about. I cannot tell much from these photos. I suggest you start brushing the teeth daily to help the gums be healthy. If you would like to post again with a good photo of the swelling we may be able to help you better.

    In your next posts, please ask a question that we can answer for you. I would wait a few days to see if the medications work or not. If they don’t, discuss biopsying this swelling/mass to see if there is infection or cancer as a cause.

Her top teeth look like they're kind of recess and cause it comes around the teeth are swollen and a different shade of color is this something I need to worry about or is it just old age because she is 6 years old
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Brindle. It is difficult to say without seeing a picture, but she could be experiencing an overgrowth of her gum tissue. This is common in certain breeds of dogs especially boxers and bulldogs. She will likely need to have her teeth cleaned under anesthesia. This will not only allow the cleaning, but for her teeth and gum health to be assessed. Treatment can then be performed if necessary. I hope this information helps!

Poor Xarina. This sounds like she had an initial puncture wound that has now turned into an abscess. This not only should be drained using sterile procedures through your vet but she will also need to be placed on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicaiton. This cannot be managed at home unfortunately. If you cannot get it your vet until morning, then placing a cold compress on the area for 5-10 minutes may help some. I would then allow it to drain on its own because this area is likely very sore and also you have the potential to cause transfer of bacteria into nearby vessels, which can cause sepsis if you don't follow up right away with some type of antibiotic or internal flush (usually under sedation). Letting you vet properly care for this on tomorrow is the best option for Xarina's care. There are many regular vet hospitals open on the weekend, so google search for some in your area. I hope that she is able to make a full and speedy recovery. Best of luck at the vet on tomorrow

This does indeed look uncomfortable! Pictures can be deceiving but it appears there is significant loss of bone and gum tissue above the affected teeth, with tartar and infection build up. Referral to a specialist dentist for xrays to fully assess what is going on under the gum may provide more information but it is likely that extraction of 2 or 3 teeth and repair of the gum over this area will be required in order to eliminate the infection and prevent pain

That is a sign of gingivitis and gum disease. It can also be the start of a growth since there is more evident behind the canine tooth I would schedule and appointment with your vet as she may need her teeth cleaned to help treat the infection. From there if it appears to be a growth also they may need to take a biopsy to see what it is

Hi and thanks for your request. This is very likely to be an epulis, a benign gingival growth which unfortunately is very vascularized and can bleed copiously. A small biopsy can easily confirm this clinical suspicion.

Lost a tooth now has swelling on the gum
I would recommend a check up to make sure the whole tooth(canine) has gone, without any remnants of it still inside gum. The swelling should go down even without any treatment in the next 24 hours. If you have a picture of the lost tooth I can tell you if has come out completely or not. One side of my dogs mouth/muzzle is swollen. I just noticed it today, so it is new. It appears sensitive to touch. I have tried looking in her mouth as was as inspecting the exterior of her mouth and did not notice anything out of the ordinary.
I would recommend taking Rozzi to a veterinarian. I would call yours in the morning. It is difficult to say definitively what is going on but from the pictures it looks like a potential tooth root abscess. A tooth root abscess can appear as one side of the face or mouth is swollen. The way to treat this is antibiotics, pain meds and pulling the affected tooth. If the swelling gets worse overnight then I recommend an emergency veterinarian for a possible allergic reaction. My dog has a slightly inflamed gum. What can I do for this?
I'm sorry to hear that Tobias has inflamed gums! Without being able to examine him or at least see a photo of the problem, it's hard to say what might be causing this. He may have an infected tooth, a growth of some kind, or generalized periodontal disease. Most of these problems will require veterinary attention to address properly, so I would recommend having him examined by a vet as soon as you are able to so that the problem can be treated. In the meantime, you can try using an over-the-counter dental rinse for dogs if you like - Vetoquinol Dentahex rinse is a good choice for general oral health. This will not treat the underlying problem that is causing the inflammation, but may help to make Tobias a bit more comfortable until you are able to see the vet.

Hello! This looks like gingival hyperplasia and it can be due to inflammation under the gums. When you use a scraper on the tooth you are not getting under the gumline so there is still bacteria under there which is causing inflammation. I would not be overly worried about it at this stage. It is not that harmful but go easy with the scraping and only use that once every month or two.
