Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 8 days old | 50 lbs
My six month old golden retriever puppy had diarrhea and the vet prescribed metronidazole last week. He is currently having cottage cheese and rice for his meals. He stool is soft and orange. What should we do?

I think the stool is looking OK for what he is eating. I really don't recommend giving any dairy products when a dog has diarrhea. Cottage cheese is not really something I would suggest. At this stage you should put him back on his regular food and add in a probiotic (one made for dogs, not people). I like Fortiflora and you should use it for a minimum of 14 days. If this does not help then you should have him back to your vet for a follow-up. ( 1800petmeds.com/Purina+FortiFlora-prod10376.html )
