My 8-year-old dog wanders at night. Is it dementia or something else?

my dog has recently been getting up in the middle of the night and roaming aimlessly. she's 8 years old, pitbull. she sniffs the floor like shes looking for something but just wanders around. She hesitates to get on and off the bed when this happens. She is eating and pooping normally. I'm thinking maybe she can't see at night, maybe she's forgetting where she is, maybe a brain tumor, or cancer. Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 8 years and 3 months old | 45 lbs

Yes, any of those things you mentioned are possible causes for her symptoms. There are other things too. Sounds a bit like cognitive dysfunction to me (aka: dementia). I strongly recommend you get her to your vet for an exam.
