Pet's info: Dog | Bernese Mountain Dog | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 21 days old | 29.5 lbs
My puppy recently had a biopsy on the lesion on the side of his body. The results concluded that he may have Deriers Disease which is very very rare in dogs. It’s also genetic but his none of his family has this. The breeder’s vet thinks it’s just a sebaceous gland though. Any ideas on what it may be? He has one on his side, his nose, and by his tail.

I don't think it is a sebaceouos gland/cyst. I would trust the histopathology. It is not actually Darier's disease. It is a genetic acantholytic dermatosis resembling human Darier disease. You are right, it has been rarely recognized in dogs. It is autoimmune in origin. I would suggest you consult with a veterinary dermatologist. Since this is so rare they will be the best one to guide you on this. I would suggest the veterinary college but I know it is a bit far from you. Your vet can always call them and do a consult for you to see what the best treatment options are. ( https://uwveterinarycare.wisc.edu/small-animal/cats-and-dogs/dermatology )
