Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male | neutered | 14 years and 9 months old | 10.3 lbs
My cat is 15yrs old, indoor cat, with diabetes and recently discovered ear mites. He is on .1 unit of Lantus in the morning and night. He was given Revolution last thursday and Klearotic to cleanse his ears for 3 days. He was given a bath 2 days ago and since midday yesterday has been acting lethargic, not eating, unbalanced, antisocial. Should i be worried or could it be a normal cold? I heard l-lysine amino acid vitamins could help and what would the proper dosage be for a cat whom weighs 10.3

Hello. I am concerned that a possible problem has occurred by the use of medication in his ear. Also, a cat on Lantus needs to eat. This is a situation where you should see your vet as soon as you can. L-lysine was thought to lessen the effects of some herpes related upper respiratory infections, but it has turned out not to be very effective. There is nothing about L-lysine that will be of benefit for Handsome at this time. You do need to see if there is some other underlying condition affecting him, & you do need to check his blood glucose in case his Lantus dose needs to be adjusted. I hope he is feeling better soon. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
