Pet's info: Cat | European Shorthair | Male | neutered | 18 lbs
My male cat (approx 10 years old) occasionally develops these black scabs on the inner corners of both his eyes (prior to this, there is some clear, minor weeping in the same spot). It doesn't seem to bother him much and if the scabs don't fall off themselves, I usually assist later to wipe them away with a clean, warm tissue. In all other regards, he appears to be in great health and as stated, this only occasionally occurs, so just curious if there is anything I might need to do? Thank you.

This can be a pretty normal thing. Cats have a normal staining in their saliva and tears that can look brownish when dried. Not a big deal. I would not be overly concerned unless it becomes excessive or he seems to have other problems with the eyes. I suggest you use these eye wipes when cleaning the eyes although there is nothing wrong with using the tissue and warm water as you have been.
