My dog has a bump after grooming. Is it a wart or just a skin tag?

This looks like a mass. It looks quite benign such as a wart or skin tag, however it is impossible to know for sure without testing the lump. You could have the lump tested/removed or simply monitor it for changes. I wouldn't be overly concerned about it.

    Thank you for submitting your question regarding Diesel. It does appear to be a small wart like growth. These are common in middle aged to older dogs. Some dogs will grow more after the first one. If it does not change size or bother him, it is likely not anything to worry about for him. However, if it grows, changes color or bothers him, then he will need to see his veterinarian. I hope this information helps!

Without seeing it in person it is hard to know for sure what the growth is. It is not likely a wart. Warts are caused by viruses and often seen in the mouth of dogs. This may very well be a benign skin tag/growth, but with any lump an evaluation by your veterinarian at your earliest convenience is recommended. They may take a small needle sample and look at the cells under the microscope to get more info and make sure it is nothing to worry about. They can also discuss options for removal if it is growing or if it is bothering pogi.

Dog has small pink wart like bump or skin tag perhaps?
Hi there! From the photo the mass does appear to be a benign papilloma (wart). That being said, it is not easy to tell 100% from a photo. I would still recommend you take Jack to your vet for an exam just to be on the safe side. I do not think it's an emergency situation. While you are waiting to take him in for his exam be sure to monitor the mass closely for any drastic changes in shape or size. I hope this helps. Best wishes.

Hello, I have attached photos of my dogs leg he’s had this wart looking thing for over a year now, and has recently got bigger. Is this normal for a dog ? He’s a Sprollie and he’s 7.
According to the pic, It looks like a possible skin tag (fibropapilloma) which harmless, some skin tags can grow a few centimeters but that's need to be confirmed by a vet on examination . that's especially important with any mass that is growing in size, appearance, or color. In addition if it is confirmed as a growing skin tag your vet may consider removal. The bottom line it will need to be checked by a vet.

Hi, I found a tumor looking thing on the back of my dogs left arm. Any idea what it is?
It looks like it could be a skin tag. You can monitor it for rapid change or growth. If necessary, your veterinarian can perform a fine needle aspirate to collect samples for pathology or simply remove it and submit it for biopsy.

Hello, I just noticed a tiny bump on the surface of my dogs skin while I was petting him. It’s moveable and has a hard surface, with a darker center. Do you think this looks like a wart or skin tag?

Dog has what looks like a red skin tag. Can I send pic?
That mass could be several things. Red raised hairless masses can be benign growths such as warts, histiocytomas, reactions or infected hair follicles. They can unfortunately also be malignant grows such as Mast Cell Tumor or Plasmacytoma. I would recommend to have it checked out by the vet who may be better able to tell how concerned you should be by palpating the mass and the surrounding lymphnodes. The good news is that the majority of masses are benign but it's always better to be safe. Thank you for using Boop by Petco!

Hello there I have found what appears to be a large skin tag on the belly of my dog but I am worried it is something more serious, any advice would be appreciated.
That looks more like a wart or other type of skin lesion. Pets can get many types of lumps and bumps. Most of these tumors will be benign but some will be malignant and you can't tell by looks. The doctor may recommend to aspirate the mass to examine the cells under a microscope. That is one of the best ways to know what it is and if further action is needed. I hope this helps.

Yes, this may just be a benign growth like a skin tag, but I cannot make a definitive diagnosis without seeing him in person. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. I hope this helps!

My dog has a small pink raised bump on her neck, it’s about the size of the head of a needle.. maybe a little bigger. It’s been there for a few months and hasn’t grown in size. It doesn’t seem to be bothering her. Any idea what it could be?
This is likely a harmless wart, especially since it has not changed in size or shape for many months. Continue monitoring it and if it changes in shape, size or color have your veterinarian examine it. Your vet may then want to do a fine needle aspirate (he takes some material from the bump with a needle and then looks at it under the microscope) to determine whether the mass is concerning.

My dog developed a red bump on his face over the last week maybe and I am concerned as to what it is...from what I have read it looks like either a wart or a hystiocytoma...can you tell by looking if it is either of those or something more serious?..
It looks to me like a little wart, but it could be a histiocytoma or another type of tumour in the early stages. It is impossible to know by looking at it, and it would need to be tested to know for sure. However, as it looks pretty innocuous I wouldn't worry too much and would advise you to monitor it. If it changes quickly then have it tested.
