My dog barks at me at night in the dark. Can dogs see in the dark?

My dog sleeps on the couch in the living room and sometimes when i come out of my room at night and the lights are off, to get myself a glass of water my dog growls and barks at me. Although she stops when i approach her. Why does she bark at me? Can’t they seein the dark? Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 4 days old
