My cat's chin cut won't heal after weeks. Should I go to the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 10 lbs

My cat has a cut under his chin and I’m not sure how he got it. It hasn’t been getting any better or worse for the last few weeks. I’m wondering if I should bring him to the vet to get it checked out? Thanks!

Poor Wranger! Yes, if the wound has been there for a few weeks and has not healed, I would recommend having it checked by a veterinarian. It may be infected, or there may be some other reason it isn't healing that needs to be addressed.
