My cat is suddenly wobbly and can't hold her head up. How serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

Hello, needed to ask about this condition of my female cat. She isn't able to keep her neck upright or stand for long, also bit wobbly. Suddenly after morning this issue started without any such injury. Vet has mentioned this is an injury. Unable to understand the depth of it (attached prescription). How serious is this issue? Will the cat wobble for lifetime?

It's hard to say if this is a permanent change or not. The injury that is listed on the paper can be life-threatening. I would recommend strict confinement in a small kennel (like bed-rest for a human) to avoid aggravating the injury. After 4-6 weeks of rest, we will have a better idea if it is a permanent change or not.
