Hello, I am taking my 8-week-old kitten to the vet this week for her first round of shots, tests, and exam. What is the average cost of the first vet visit for a kitten?

Hi there. This will vary quite a bit depending on where you live and what clinic you go to, so it's hard to give a good "general" answer for the entire US. But to give you a general idea, in my area, the total cost for a first kitten visit (exam, FeLV/FIV test, fecal exam +/- deworming, first set of vaccines, and first dose of flea/HW meds) would usually be in the $150-250 range. In some parts of the country, it could be considerably more - so if cost is a concern, I would suggest calling around to some local clinics to ask about their prices before your visit.
