Why is my dog constantly licking and biting his paws? Could it be pododermatitis?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | neutered | 10 lbs

Hello so I don’t know how my dog contracted this but can you confirm if it’s pododermatitus? I looked up several types of infections and it fit the symptoms my dog has. He keeps biting and licking at his paws. Thank you.

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Thor. Unfortunately, I cannot make a definitive diagnosis over an internet forum, it's illegal. It could be he has pododermatitis, but without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain. I'd take him into the vet who can diagnose what is causing the problem, and can treat him. Best of luck.
