Poor guy. Repetitive vomiting in older cats is often cauesd by kidney disease. Other possible causes include inflammatory bowel disease, lymphoma or a liver problem. I would highly recommend taking Simon to your vet and start with a blood test and urinalysis. This will give us more information on what the underlying problem likely is so that we know how best to treat it moving forward. I do hope that your kitty is able to get well soon! Best wishes and take care.

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Ultrasound would be the next sensible step of investigation. If the result is negative, you should discuss gastroscopy (checking the stomach with a camera) with your vet. In the meantime, Quincy should be treated with anti-sickness medications. Alternatively, a feeding tube can be placed to provide nutrients.

Hairballs are one possibility but pretty low in the list of possible causes. some more common condition include pancreatitis, IBD, lymphoma and kidney failure. i strongly recommend that you take Arthur to the vet in order to get it checked, a blood test will probably be necessary.

Unfortunately, it would be hard to give an exact answers without an exam since there are many reasons why Louie might be vomiting. It's possible he has a hairball that is causing some build-up over time that leads to the vomiting. Food allergies can also cause occasional vomiting, as can eating too quickly during a meal. Other issues, such as functional problems with the esophagus causing food to come back up, or underlying illnesses leading to vomiting may also cause the monthly episodes you are seeing. It would be a good idea to have Louie seen by your vet since he is a senior kitty. They can take a general exam, bloodwork, and may recommend X-rays to check for issues such as megaesophagus which can cause vomiting like you described. From there, they can help determine if a diet change, medications, or other treatments may help.
