My cat has loose stools for days, eating & active. When to see vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 2 years and 9 months old

Good day, I hope this message finds you well! My cat has been having loose stools for two days now, this is being the third! I don't know why! He's been eating well and is active around the house. What could it be? And do I need to take him to the vet? Thank you for your help!

Loose stools can be from a number of things including food allergies, parasites, underlying illness, changes in diet, etc. If you haven't changed Felix's food at all, and he's still having loose stool, bringing him or a sample of his stool into your vet for a complete exam and fecal test is a good idea to help rule out common issues.
