Why is my dog licking his penis with a greenish bump and extra skin?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Poodle | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 8 months old | 10 lbs

My dog’s penis has a little bump that looks a little greenish. He also has some extra skin at the tip that is hanging. He can pee and doesnt seem to be in any pain but he does lick himself more than usual.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Yoshi. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian soon. The skin over the penis is called the prepuce. It appears swollen and possibly infected. His veterinarian will need to evaluate his actual penis to see if it appears healthy or not. In the meantime, place an E-collar on him to prevent any further licking as this will only make it worse. I hope this information helps!
