Which cat food is the best for my cat: Whiskas or Purina Friskies?

I would feed whichever brand your cat(s) prefer. Both diets do meet the minimum standards for nutrition and are fine as long as your cat doesn't have any health issues like urinary crystals or stones. You are providing them adequate nutrition and it is important they eat what they prefer and you can reasonably afford.

I think Friskies is the slightly better diet. You can also feed a combo of wet and dry, most cats enjoy some variety. You may also look at Purina, they produce a nice food and tend to be less expensive than some of the other foods. Please post again if you have any further questions!

Friskies is not the best choice for cat food and I usually reserve recommending this brand for sick patients that won't eat anything and need a little more enticing for the appetite. Friskies contains mostly biproducts in the ingredients but it is not going to put her life in danger. Friskies meets the AAFCO statement and all life stage requirements and the truth is, I've seen many cats on Friskies their entire life and they looked great. I do typically recommend Science Diet or Royal Canin as my first choice recommendations as I know that have quite a bit of research they have put into their diets and from personal experience I find that both are great diets. Friskies is ok, it's not the best of the supermarket brands, but it's certainly not the worse. In terms of supermarket brands, I prefer Purina, but if Atticus has been eating Friskies his entire life, I'd keep giving it to him. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Billu. Royal Canin will be a higher quality kitten food, but Whiskas should be fine for her. It is well balanced and appropriate for her growth and development. Make sure to gradually transition her over to the new food over 7 days or so to prevent any GI upset. Hi and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! Sheba brand is a slightly better formula than the Friskies and 9 lives. It may also be that the Sheba brand food is more palatable to her than the others. Like people, cats can have variable tastes so it may be that she just prefers this brand over the others.

Great question! When a cat food costs more, its' because of the ingredients used in the food. Meow Mix likely has better quality ingredients than Friskies (but not as good as the higher priced foods like Royal Canin), and owners typically are very concerned with feeding their pets the best quality food they can afford. That would be my guess as to why Meow Mix is the most popular food on Amazon even though there is a cheaper option. I hope this helps :-)

There are lots of Whiskas products so I can't find the specific feeding guidelines for your cat food. There is usually a feeding guideline written on the bag or box of food that you can follow based on their current weight. If you can find this information and still have feeding questions, post a new question or choose a Boop by Petco Consult to discuss it further. Whiskas food is fine for cat's that are healthy on it! I do prefer that cats be on wet food instead of dry food as the extra moisture and higher protein content are great for cat nutrition. You may consider switching to canned Whiskas. I usually feed my cats Fancy Feast because that is easily found at my local grocery store. In general, canned cat food comes in 2 can sizes: small and large. I generally recommend feeding 1 small can twice a day for normal sized cats. Since Zoli is still growing, she may not eat the entire can, but you can still offer it to her to eat.

Congrats on your new kitten! Lady's diarrhea could be caused by intestinal parasites, a change in diet (if she wasn't fed Frisky's before), a GI illness, or eating something rotten. If she isn't up to date on her deworming treatments, you will need to get one from the vet. You can try a bland diet to see if that helps with the diarrhea. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. I would recommend feeing her a high quality kitten formulated food instead of Frisky's. It's not the best quality food, and Lady should be getting kitten food, as she needs more calories, protein, and calcium to support her growth. A kitten food would provide that. I recommen
