Why is my kitten sleepy after taking paraffin oil for constipation?

Pet's info: Cat | Scottish Fold | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 21 days old

So after consulting my vet about my kitten's bloated tummy and constipation, he told me to give him a small amount of paraffin oil.. but after giving him the paraffin oil (1 ml) hes now super lazy and sleepy.. is this okay?

The paraffin oil should have no effect on the body. It is not absorbed and should just pass through his system unchanged. It sounds like a high dose at 1.0ml for a small kitten though. If some got down into her lungs that will be a huge problem and could be why she is sleeping so much. Any breathing problems? If so, get her back to your vet as soon as possible. If no breathing problems, just sleeping, she may be tired due to stress. I really cannot tell you if she will be OK or not without examining her myself.

    If he is active as usual and is eating and drinking normally and not coughing, this should be completely fine. If showing more signs of lethargy/depression, inappetence, coughing a check up would be required to make sure he is totally fine. Small amount of liquid paraffin (not more than 1ml per day should be given.
