Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | 1 year and 11 months old
My dog has lost its appetite. His treatment is going on but I'm still concerned about one problem that no one is able to understand. Whenever he tries to drink water, hovers his mouth above the bowl for 20-30 secs as if he is trying to put his tongue out but not able to. And when he takes some 7-8 small sips, his right part of the head vibrates a little and he shrieks for 1 sec. I want to know what is the probable cause of this. I have checked his teeth for any kind of injury but there is none

It’s possible he has pain in his neck. This can be from a compressed or calcified disc or an infection in the vertebra. I recommend to have him examined again by the veterinarian with deep palpation of the neck. He may need a radiograph as well. If a lesion is discovered, he will start medication and likely pain management. I hope this helps.
