My cat has a cloudy, red, painful eye and is lethargic. What's wrong?

Yesterday, my cat was keeping his left eye closed all day. Tje white of his eye looked red and irritated and his pupil looked a bit more dilated than the right eye. He also had a bit of cloudiness to the left eye. He acted lethargic all day and seemed like the eye was painful, as he growled a bit. He didn't eat or drink much. This morning he seemed to be feeling better, and was eating and drinking. This afternoon he is acting more like himself and the eye is open, just cloudy and reflective. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 8 months and 21 days old | 9 lbs

You need to take Mr. Pickles into a vet now to get this checked out and treated. He could have an eye infection or may have injured his eye. Leaving this untreated can lead to vision loss. Best of luck.
