My cat's eye is swollen. What over-the-counter remedies can I use?

Is there anything over the counter at my local pet store that I can get for my cats eye. Not sure if it's allergies or irritated but my cats eye is swollen, watery, and there's a bit of white (maybe tissue?) At the corner of her eye. She's also been pawing at it. I'm currently at work and my sister is watching her with no way to get to the vet. Please let me know if there is anything she can do at home. Pet's info: Cat | American Longhair | Female | spayed | 9 lbs

The tissue at the corner of the eye is the third eyelid protruding. The 3rd eyelid is visible when they pull the eyeball back into the orbit from pain. Also, they squint the eye when the eye is painful. Kazi really needs to see a vet for this. In the meantime all you can do is rinse the eye with saline solution (like for contacts, ask the pharmacist to point one out) OR you can use this pet eye gel: ( )
