My bunny has this weird bump in his back and I’m worried that this can be something that can harm my bunny he eats and drinks and acts normal

It looks like a scab but I can't really tell. It does not look like something to be overly concerned about at this time. It is a lump that is attached to his body? I suggest you try to soak it with some dilute hydrogen peroxide and then try to remove it. If it is a scab it should come off. If it is a lump that is attached to the body then he should see a vet.

    It is very hard to tell from a picture if the bump is infected. Rabbits can get skin infections just like dog and cats. Also, they can get trauma from rubbing their nose. I would recommend taking back to veterinarian for more testing of this lesion.

The best thing is to gently feel the lump and figure out how big it is ( for example, as big as a cherry pit, or measure it if you can. Write this down and then measure it again a week later. If it has grown, you should take your rabbit to a veterinarian as it could be a tumor or a cyst or an abscess. If it does not grow and does not ooze nor the skin starts to turn red, then I would not worry about it, and only show it to your vet the next time you take Albie in for an exam or vaccinations.

I have a pet rabbit who is nine years old. Recently I’ve noticed a little bump on his head in between his ears. Should I be worried? I’ve attached a photo.
Thanks for reaching out about Charlie and including a photo. My the picture, it appears to be a scab with no discharge. Monitor the site for increase in size, seeming itchy or any discharge. If these are noted, a veterinary visit is recommended. Good luck.

This lump could be a cyst, an abscess, a benign tumor, or a malignant tumor. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. I would give Harry's vet a call in the morning to make him an appointment. Best of luck.

My rabbit has a tumour like lump near her anus, her insurance doesn't start for another 12 days it has not grown in size since yesterday and she is eating / pooing fine just wondered on the urgency of getting her to the vet.
Lumps and bump can certainly be scary, especially since we usually don't have any idea what they are. As long as it is not effective Poppy's ability to urinate and defecate, and as long as she is eating / drinking / having a good energy level, there is not absolute rush to have her seen. However, I would definitely get her to the vet to have that area examined as soon as it is financially feasible to do so. It is in an area of the body where if the size increases, the mass could certain become problematic. It is best to deal with it sooner than later. If the area starts to grown in size by even 10%, I would not wait until the insurance kicks in and just get her somewhere to be examined. While I realize this isn't ideal, rabbits are very sensitive to changes in their health and have the ability to crash quickly if things are not hastily dealt with. This kind of lump/growth needs to be ideally assessed by your veterinarian to have a definitive and specific answer. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). Differentials include skin cysts, infections, benign or more sinister type of tumors. What can I do for my rabbits lump
Keep the area clean and dry. Consider an exam with your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating rabbits to diagnose and treat infection or injury. A fine needle aspirate can be done in the clinic to collect samples for pathology to diagnose a malignancy.

Hi! I have a female 5 month old brown colored rabbit. I’ve felt a bump around her ear I can’t see it but I can feel it and when I touch it, it feels like it’s going down. I don’t know what this could be I’ve searched on google. Please help!

Hi, what is this? it's like a pimple
Thanks for reaching out about your rabbit and including a photo. This appears to be a trichofolliculoma (ingrown hair cyst). A veterinary visit is needed to remove (surgically) but need to wait until much older. Monitor for now, do not apply anything topically. Good luck.

There are bumps on my bunnys ears and im not sure what caused them(he wouldnt be still enough for me to take a picture) should i be concerned?
Monitor for rapid change or growth, excess itching, redness, swelling or discharge. You can use a pet wipe or plain, unscented baby wipe to gently clean the ears. Make sure they are dry afterwards. If there is any change in the lumps or behavior, have Prince examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating rabbits. In the meantime, clean and sanitize the cage, bowls, toys and hides. Discard anything that cannot be sanitized. Clean the cage daily to prevent pests.
