Puppy vulva bleeding after heat: Is it normal for a 7-month-old?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 22 days old | 8 lbs

Hello, my 7 month old puppy was treated 5 days ago after she ate a pill I dropped meant for digesting. The vet said it was safe but she ate 20 times the dose she is allowed. She was watched and treated over night at the vet. Today I noticed blood in her vulva. She just finished her heat about two weeks ago. What could this be?

The blood coukd be from a UTI or even bladder stones. It should not be related to the tablet she ate but since I don’t know all its ingredients it is difficult for me to say for sure. I suggest you get her back to the vet for a follow-up and a urine test.
