My young dog has hip dysplasia on X-rays. What's the prognosis?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd - miniature | Male | neutered | 1 year and 9 months old | 33 lbs

My pup recently had these rads taken, I’m looking to see what someone else sees in them and some prognosis. We’re trying to make educated next steps for the little guy. He’s so young.

Looks like mild hip dysplasia of the left hip. There also seems to be narrowing if the medial joint space in the right knee but this could be due to positioning. It would be easier to give you advice if you could give us more information about Milo’s clinical signs and what diagnosis your vet gave.
