My dog has skunk breath from being sprayed. How can I fix it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Doberman Pinscher | Male | neutered | 6 years and 2 months old | 110 lbs

He got sprayed in the mouth by a skunk on Thur morning. Hasn't gotten sick, no foaming or anything. Has severe "skunk-breath". Is there anything I can give him to help relieve this awful taste and smell?

You can't use solutions or anything like that in the mouth since they are not safe to be ingested. You may try using this mixture on his chest and neck and that may help to get rid of some of the smell. Do not put this in Stone's mouth, eyes or ears: https://www.petcoach.co/article/removing-the-smell-of-a-skunk-from-your-pet/ Brush his teeth every day with dog tooth paste and this may help to work out some of the odor. I hope this helps and best of luck.
