Why won't my painted turtle open her eyes after tank resealing?

Question

I had to reseal my painted turtle tank, waited 24 hours to refill and set up, now she will not open her eyes underwater. Pet's info: Reptile | Aquatic Turtle | Female | unspayed | 3 lbs

Thanks for reaching out about Lightning. Did you use a product approved for aquatic animals? There could be residues in the water that are irritating. Perform a 100% water change. If the problem continues, a veterinary visit is recommended to assess for eye irritation. Vitamin A deficiencies can often lead to swollen eyes but typically a problem in and out of water.
