My puppy has roundworms. How to clean my home and prevent re-infection?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 5 days old | 63 lbs

My 9 week puppy has round worms and is getting his 2nd round of shots tomorrow. What can I do now to disinfect my floors/carpet/sheets/blankets/couches? Should I throw away all his toys and bed? And how do I clean up after all his poops tonight and after he gets his second deworming shot and is pooping out all the worms. How do I keep him clean and avoid any further contamination?

Just was the sheets and blankets, as well as Kola's toys and bed. You do not need to throw them away. Vacuum the floors and carpets as well as the couches. Use gloves to pick up his poop, and throw it away in a plastic bag in the trash can outside. Just practice good hygiene and everything will be fine.
