Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 6 years old | 100 lbs
I noticed yesterday my dog (lab mix) has what I think is a pimple on his sheath. I just wanted to confirm it or make sure it is nothing more serious.

I don't think I'd be overly worried about this at this point in time. It could be just a follicular cyst. I suggest you just monitor it for now. If it does not go away in the next month or so, it gets larger or it starts to bother him then you should have your vet take a look at it. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be an abscess or a growth (either benign or malignant). I recommend you have Looey evaluated by your veterinarian for a test called fine needle aspirate which is an easy, quick and pain-free procedure which in the majority of cases will help reach a diagnosis to identify what the best course of action is based on the findings. If it is just an abscess, they would drain it and start him on antibiotics. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed that it is something benign.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is hard to know what this is without an examination. This could be a benign or malignant growth. This could even be an abscess. There is no way of knowing what it is just based on its appearance. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Good luck and have a good day!
