My dog has a back injury, weak legs, and poor coordination. How to help?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Doberman Pinscher | Male | neutered | 22.5 lbs

Hello, my name is Ashley and my mini Doberman had an accident last Friday. My boyfriend and I took him to the local vet and he told us that he had a minor injury to one of his back vertebrae. We didn’t have enough money for the treatment. So during this time we have been walking my dog and giving him low dose aspirin. My dog walks and runs on his own. But his back legs are weak and loss of coordination. Is there anything else we can do to help my dog until we get enough money for another visit,

Please stop giving Boss aspirin. It's really not safe for dogs, and causes GI ulcers and bleeding. Rest him. No walks, nothing. Just take him out to potty on a leash in the yard, and bring him right back in when he's done. Best of luck.
