My cat's bottom lip is swollen and losing hair. What's the cause?

Pet's info: Cat | Chartreux | Male | neutered | 1 year and 9 months old | 5 lbs

Hi! My cat recently has developed a swollen bottom lip & all of the hair has seemed to fall out where it's swelled. I'm not particularly sure what happened but it started about 3 days ago. How would I go about fixing it & finding out what happened. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Ash should be examined by his veterinarian. The most common causes of this type of lesion are an infection, an autoimmune condition called an eosinophilic granuloma, a tooth root abscess, an allergic reaction or an injury such as a burn. A physical exam and possibly some bloodwork will help to determine the cause so that he can receive appropriate treatment. I hope this helps.
