Will my dog come home same day after IV for infection and fever?

You I just like to know if when a dog goes in for a temperature, lack of food and water due to an infection to be put in an IV do they come home the same day if the IV antibiotic combo helps. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 13.8 lbs

Hi and thanks for your request. Unfortunately there is not a straight answer to this question. Yes that could help but it would depend on the underlying cause causing inappetence, lack of water intake and high temperature. If all the signs have improved after 24hours of treatment (or even less), this may have been an effective and successful therapy but for sure antibiotics therapy will need to be continued back home for more days. More clinical informations, including a definitive or presumptive diagnosis your vet is suspecting, are needed to give you more specific answers.
