My cat ate, threw up, ate again, and threw up. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 7 lbs

My cat is usually very hungry. He is eager to eat his meals during meal times. This morning when i went to feed him, he went over to his food but did not each much. He later went back to it and finished it, but he threw it back up pretty quickly. Should i be taking him to the vet? What could be causing this? Thank you

I would definitely keep an eye on him, and if he vomits again or doesn't want to eat still, schedule a vet appointment. Issues such as minor GI upset, underlying illness, hairballs or obstructions, parasites, etc can all be possible causes of vomiting, which is why it's important to have it checked out if it continues more than once. If Lando seems in any obvious distress or pain (vocalizing, pacing, attempting to go potty but can't, tender to touch, etc), then he should be seen sooner.
