We placed a order for 2 British Blue kittens and was suppose to be picking them up 2 weeks ago and paying the hobby breeder £1500,but have been put off picking them up as she says they both have pink eye which hasn't cleared up What we are concerned about is the length of time they have had the problem and if we go ahead and take them we dear we could have 2 cats which have re occurring eye problems and hence big vet bills Can you advise please.

I am sorry to hear about your concerns. We do worry in kittens with eye infections about the possibility of feline herpes virus https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951824 which unfortunately can be something that recurrs later on in life depending on the cat. I would ask to see the vet records or see if you can talk to the vet who has examined the kittens to see if they think it could be feline herpes virus.
