Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 5 years and 8 months old | 10 lbs

Hi, our cat suddenly got very aggressive last night and start hiding under the bed. He also seem unable to (either pee or poop) once. We brought him to the vet and had a complete blood panel, chem 17,Electrolyte 4,Pancreactic Test,Ultrasound and found nothing. No UT blockage and intestine seems normal. So we brought him back with some Gabapentin prescribed. Problem is he still isn't using the litter box at all today.(It's 4 pm now) What may be the problem in these situation? Thank you!

I don't want to second guess your vet but I'm unsure why the gabapentin was prescribed. Did your vet think B is having anxiety? I don't think gabapentin would be my first choice for anxiety treatment. Maybe discuss with your vet as to why they prescribed this and what your other options may be. Have you had any major changes in the environment lately? Move? Got a new pet? Had a baby? etc? I suggest you use some Feliway products and try some environmental enrichment. For the next week though I think you should put him in his own room if at all possible, alone (no other pets or people) with his own food, water and litter box so you can give him some space and decrease stress. If you have more questions you can always opt for a private consultation where we can chat back and forth. That way you can ask as many questions as you'd like. Best wishes.
