My cat went to vet 7/11 for stitches. She got her stitches because she had a cut from a broken fence outside and she got all her shots plus a antibiotic shot. 7/13 diarrhea started its slowing down but my vet told me it could be from the antibiotic shot she got but, now I’m curios if she may have IBD because the diarrhea and going outside litter box by accident I think a couple times and she’s still having the diarrhea. She’s eating great and drinking good stitching are great also. What can I do

Hello. If the diarrhea is slowing down, then it may just resolve on its own. It sounds like your cat received the long acting antibiotic called Covenia, & the most common side effect is diarrhea. I would start Ella on a probiotic such as Proviable or FortiFlora, both available at major pet retailers like Petco. I am less inclined to think this is IBD because IBD diarrhea is often accompanied by vomiting, too. I would be careful about using this drug in Ella again, but give things some time to see if the diarrhea quits with the addition of a probiotic. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
