My dog's skin is irritated by Frontline Plus. How to stop scratching?

I have given my dog frontline plus for tic repellent and it is really irritating his skin I know it says that it will do that but I cant stop him from scratching it and it is really bugging him to a point he is whining what can I do to help this. Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 25 days old | 51 lbs
