My puppy ate ketchup. Why is she vomiting and having diarrhea?

My puppy ate some ketchup from a packet she has diarrhea and she threw up once today she got a hold of it yesterday should I be worried. Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 8.5 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Ketchup is not toxic to dogs so I do not think the vomiting or diarrhea is coming from eating that. If she is still vomiting and having diarrhea after 24 hours, I recommend taking her to a vet to find out what is going on internally. She could have parasites or have eaten something else to cause the intestinal upset. If the vomiting and diarrhea continues she will need medication to stop both and fluids to prevent dehydration.
