My dog ate cooked onion. She's bloated, gassy, and breathing fast. Is it serious?

Hi, we’re worried our 18 month old mini dachshund May have eaten some cooked onion when she has gotten into some leftovers. She seems bloated and has been passing wind and has had quite a stinky Bach smelling burp and her breathing seems to be quite fast (like when she’s very hot). She is normally fit and well and while she is very snuggly and lethargic tonight, it seems to be a normal amount of snuggliness.

Jesse should be examined by the veterinarian. The rapid breathing could indicate that she is in pain. Onions can affect the red blood cells and cause destruction of the cells and this can also effect the respiratory and cardiovascular system. I recommend to play it safe and have her examined by her veterinarian quickly. The doctor will need an easy blood test to see the amount t of red blood cells. Treatment will be based upon the physical examine and lab values. Best of luck and I hope she starts feeling better quickly.
