My 3-month-old Goldendoodle puppy won't eat. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Male | 3 months and 25 days old

I just got a 3mos old Goldendoodle from a breeder. He got all the vaccines needed except rabies. He was playful as if now but hardly eats. I am giving him Royal Cannine brand just like what the breeder had feeding him. But only eat 5 to 10 pieces every 4 to 5 hrs.

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Rusty. If he is eating the same food but he only eats a bit at a time, this could suggest there is something wrong with him. He could be teething, making it painful to eat. Try soaking his dry food in warm water to make it softer to see if that helps. If it does not, have him seen by a vet. I hope this helps!
